Welcome to Golden Rule Family Practice! As a small family practice, we are a team of enthusiastic healthcare professionals from diverse backgrounds, and we passionately work together towards one goal - to treat every patient as if they were one of our own. We believe in comprehensiveness, continuity, and compassion while providing our care, and do everything we can to ensure each patient feels at home. As a Medical Assistant you will be in charge of: Answering phone calls and scheduling appointments. Confirming appointments one day in advance. Greeting patients and providing them with any necessary paperwork. Collecting co-pays or payments prior to the office visit or treatment. Directing patients to the lab for scheduled blood work and testing. Verifying insurance coverage and assisting billing department with processing claims. Assisting patients with rescheduling appointments and other scheduling issues. Communicating test results to patients when directed by physician or nurse practitioner. Verifying patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit. Preparing patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests: taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summary. Maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations. Keeping supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt. Performing medical tasks including urine dipstick, strep test, flu test, spirometry, ECG, nebulizer treatment, administering immunization, and others as needed. Qualifications required. High school diploma/GED. Medical office experience is a plus. Excellent communication and time management skills. Phlebotomy is a plus but not required. Professionalism and the ability to multitask.
Pay:
$14.00 - $20.00 per hour
