SGI is a thriving single specialty medical practice with an attached state of the art ambulatory surgical center located in the heart of Naperville, IL. We are a team of dedicated physicians and advance practice providers focused on treating gastrointestinal illness, colon cancer screening, liver disease and obesity. We provide a supportive and collaborative work environment with room for professional growth. We are seeing a detail-oriented and highly organized Medical Assistant (MA) to join our growing medical practice. As an MA, you will be responsible for assisting with both administrative and clinical duties to ensure efficient operation of our medical facility. You will support our providers and patients through a variety of daily tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. Responsibilities
  • Interview patients and document basic medical history, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Coordinate daily administrative activities, including scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and patient medical record maintenance and reports.
  • Arrange laboratory services and medications for patients as directed by providers.
  • Care for patients before, during and after exams.
  • Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms.
  • Prepare and clean treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assisting practitioners with medical examinations and other patient care.
  • Deliver compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
  • Ensure compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA. Requirements
  • Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary.
  • High school diploma, associate's degree, or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and planning skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and patient service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with patient electronic medical record systems.
  • Certification from a medical assistant program (preferred but not required).
