Lively atmosphere Modern office setting Company perks Warm and welcoming Direct Primary Care/Concierge practice is seeking a certified Medical Assistant to care for our patients and assist Internal Medicine physicians. We are an efficient, fast-paced small team who loves treating the whole person with the highest of standards. Our private practice opened March 14th, 2022. The ideal candidate will be a responsible and well-trained professional able to give the best medical assisting care with little supervision. You will be compassionate and cool-tempered. You will be able to follow health and safety guidelines faithfully and consistently. The goal is to promote patient's well-being by providing high quality care. Must have Epic experience and be tech savvy as our office utilizes multiple apps for communication.
Responsibilities:
Triage patient calls and schedule patients appropriately Route patient calls and messages to physicians in a timely manner to ensure they are addressed quickly Communicate professionally and politely with patients via our text-based app and through phone calls Triage and room patients per practice guidelines and EPIC workflow Obtain and update patients history, chief complaint, drug and medical treatments and update in EPIC according to practice policies and guidelines Take standard vitals for each visit Ensure room is prepped and appropriate supplies are in place if needed Prepare injectables and administer via IM and SubQ routes Assist in office procedures Administer point of care tests such as urinalysis dipsticks, rapid strep, flu, covid, monospot and urine pregnancy Perform blood draws and prepare specimens for labs Perform EGKs as requested Assist patients with scheduling STAT tests Obtain refill authorization and dispense/call-in under the authorization of the physician and practice guidelines Patient Education Ensure all patient education documents are up to date Answer patient questions when applicable and per physician instructions and triage calls Fill out all patient medical forms Provide teaching of blood pressure home monitoring and diabetic monitoring Provide assistance education for communication tools Other Clean exam rooms Clean and sterilize equipment Perform inventory, restocking, and ordering of clinical and medical supplies Prepare exam rooms for patients Preauthorization and precertification of testing and procedures Other duties as assigned Skills Proven experience as a certified Medical Assistant and certification from a recognized Medical Assisting program Excellent knowledge of medical terminology In-depth knowledge of HIPPA, health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times A team player Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills Responsible and compassionate Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills Patient Outstanding problem-solving skills
