Job Description
Job Description Chicago Cardiology Institute is a growing Cardiology/Electrophysiology practice with offices in Schaumburg, Oak-Park and Chicago. We are continuing to add to staff as we add services for our patients. The opening is a permanent, full-time position primarily located in Schaumburg.
Responsibilities:
Taking vitals, rooming patients, performing EKG's, charting via an EMR system, prepping rooms, and assisting the practitioner with medical and surgical procedures. An ideal candidate will function as an integral part of the patient care team and promote patient satisfaction by interacting with patients in a professional, friendly manner. They will perform all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.Qualifications:
Required :
- Candidate must have written proof of meeting candidate eligibility requirements for writing one of the five eligible certification exams (AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, NRCMA)
- Accepted documentation : o New MA Graduates within 6 months from date of graduation from an MA Program must submit: a letter from the school or a letter from the certifying body o Non-Certified MAs or new graduates past 6 months from date of graduation from an MA program must submit: a letter from the certifying body.
- Within first six months of employment, will complete one of the following certifications after up to two test attempts: o Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) o Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical Technologists (AMT) or o National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) o Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) o Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) through the National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) • High school diploma or GED.
- American Heart Association accredited Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
- Signed acknowledgement during onboarding that certification must be attained within 6 months, as a condition of employment.
- Strong computer skills.
Preferred:
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
- Experience with electronic medical record.
- Skilled in the use of EKG.
- Experience with NextGen.
Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hourBenefits:
