Job Description

Description:
We are searching for a Medical Assistant at our Schaumburg office with some travel to our Oakbrook Terrace location. We are an Arthritis and Rheumatology based multidisciplinary medical clinic whose mission is to provide both medical and holistic treatment. Our goal is to provide the highest level of patient care and treatment while empowering and educating the patient. We are passionate about what we do and compassionate about our patient care. We are looking for someone with excellent communication, people, and technology skills. Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Perform tasks related to the entire patient infusion process (prior authorizations, benefit investigations, patient infusion scheduling, infusion assistance, patient follow-up, etc.). Medication planning and preparation of infusion sheets for the nurse. Maintain clean infusion and exam rooms. Maintain infusion and clinical supplies inventory. Contribute to the infusion billing process to optimize revenue capture and ensure timely revenue payments. Ensure timely authorization of medications and scheduling of patients including outside referrals within 7-14 days. Obtain vital signs and update medical histories within EMR. Prepare blood draws and lab tests, as needed. Transmit prescription refills as directed by the physician. Reconciliation of results. Document scanning and fax management. Timely return of patient calls. Understanding and complying with HIPAA policies and procedures. Travel to Oakbrook Terrace clinics required. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
At least 1 year of Medical Assistant office experience required. EMR experience required (eClinicalWorks preferred) as well as proficiency in other applications. Background in prior authorization experience preferred. Must have excellent customer service, a team player, dependable, phone etiquette, multitask, organizational skills, and demonstrate excellent work ethics and professionalism.
