Certified Medical Assistant - Oncology Clinic

• The Oncology Medical Assistant works closely with the oncologist, practice manager, nurse and other colleagues to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient clinic operations.

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for taking vital signs, medical histories and collecting labs while maintaining a clean and organized clinic environment. We are seeking an individual with effective communication skills who is also able to offer compassionate support to patients and families. • Work Shift:

  Monday - Friday (9-hour shifts) and half day on Friday.

• Job Specifications and Core Competencies:

• Education:

• + High school diploma or equivalent + Completion of a one-year medical assistant program or an accredited two-year medical assisting program + Previous experience or training in general medical office skills and procedures preferred + Knowledge of medical terminology required

• Licensure:

• + Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant through AAMA, AMT, NCCT, or NHA is preferred at hire and required within 90 days + CPR certification required within 60 days of hire

• Experience:

• + One to three years of experience in a medical or physician office preferred + Basic business office, clinical, and computer skills preferred
