Our busy medical and surgical dermatology office is searching for a full-time Mohs Tech , Certified Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Derm Tech to join our busy team. Responsibilities for
Certified or Registered Medical Assistant/Certified Derm Tech/Mohs Tech:
- Rooming patients using EMR (EMA), documents all vital information prior to the exam with the dermatologist/dermatology provider.
- Scribing on an iPad
- Under supervision, assist providers with biopsies, excisions, ED&C's, Mohs surgery, suture removals, wound checks and cosmetic procedures.
- Patient triage
- Refills
- Prior authorizations/Biologics
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and take directions well
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work well as a team.
- Patient communication/documentation
- Provide informed consent to patients prior to procedures and obtain photographs as instructed.
- Works under supervision with provider to administer biologic injections/train patients on how to self-administer.
- Willingness to continue to learn and be able to explain new and existing dermatological conditions.
- Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively on the telephone and in person, in a busy office environment.
- Daily cleaning and organizing exam rooms, along with stocking the rooms.
- Instrument Sterilization
- Willingness to travel to other office locations when needed including Michigan City, Chesterton, Portage and Crown Point.
Requirements:
- _ Candidate must be available to work Monday
- Friday from 7:45am to 7pm and one Saturday per month. Hours may be extended based on the practice needs.
- _•Dermatology or Plastics experience preferred, but not required.
- Must have a minimum of 1 year experience working as a medical assistant in a clinical setting.
