Full Job Description Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our psychiatric healthcare team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality patient care and supporting the psychiatric staff in delivering efficient and effective healthcare services. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the well-being of patients in a fast-paced psychiatric outpatient environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations and procedures
  • Obtain and record vital signs, medical history, and other relevant patient information
  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies
  • Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling insurance forms if necessary
  • Perform basic coding and billing tasks
  • Assist with patient education by explaining procedures, medications, and post-treatment care instructions
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all HIPAA regulations
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Previous experience in a medical office or hospital setting is highly desirable
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus
