Job Description

•Please do NOT contact the office in regard to this position• Job Description This position will be based out of either our Munster or Valparaiso location and will primarily support our Triage department in a back-office clinical support role. The primary focus of this position is coordinating patient care, managing clinical communications, and supporting providers through a variety of administrative and clinical tasks. Responsibilities include managing prior authorizations, handling patient calls related to clinical concerns, processing prescription refill requests, communicating biopsy and laboratory results, scheduling appointments, reviewing and responding to electronic health record tasks, and coordinating care with pharmacies, patients, providers, and outside healthcare facilities. This role serves as an important liaison between patients and providers, helping ensure timely communication, continuity of care, and efficient clinical operations. While this position is primarily back-office based, occasional clinical support may be required, including assisting with suture removals, wound checks, injections, blood draws, nurse visits, and providing coverage for provider teams as needed. Additional responsibilities may include maintaining patient tracking logs, assisting with patient portal registration, coordinating referrals, stocking supplies, sterilizing instruments, and supporting overall clinic operations while promoting a professional, friendly, and efficient environment for patients and staff. Essential Functions Manage prior authorizations and medication approval requests. Process prescription refill requests under provider direction. Address patient calls and electronic messages regarding clinical concerns. Communicate biopsy, pathology, and laboratory results to patients. Coordinate patient care with providers, pharmacies, and outside healthcare facilities. Review and respond to electronic health record tasks, messages, and work queues. Schedule appointments following established procedures and appointment templates. Assist patients with patient portal registration and usage. Maintain patient tracking logs, including biopsy and laboratory logs. Assist patients through the prior authorization process and answer related questions. Support provider teams and clinic operations as needed. Perform suture removals, wound checks, injections, blood draws, and nurse visits as directed. Sterilize instruments and maintain clinical supplies. Stock clinical areas and assist with maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Continually expand knowledge of dermatologic conditions, medications, and treatments. Attend to back-office tasks related to patient care and clinic operations. Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
