Position Title Ambulatory Clinic Assistant KUCC - Overland Park Position Summary /
Career Interest:
The Ambulatory Clinic Assistant (Roomer) is responsible for ensuring efficient flow of patients through the health care setting by completing patient care tasks in a culturally sensitive manner with exceptional customer service; contributes to patient care by assisting with the clinic visit, performing patient vital signs, organizing clinic/exam rooms, maintaining supply/equipment inventory, performing in the role of the patient chaperone, Obtains updated information from patient, such as recent hospitalizations, recent cardiac tests from other facilities, allergies/reactions and pharmacy name/location. Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions Accurately schedules tests; obtains films and reports. Assists physicians and/or nurses to room patients, obtain vital signs, set patient up on MyChart and report findings to medical assistant or RN. Collaborates with members of the health care team to assist in obtaining outside records prior to or during clinic visit as delegated by the medical assistant, RN, or physician. Maintains medical records; distributes reports and correspondence; files, photocopies, and processes forms (e.g. FMLA and Short-term disability paperwork) related to medical charts. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of examination rooms; stocks assigned areas and ensures par levels of supplies are maintained; checks and completes required logs and equipment such as refrigerator logs, eyewash logs, emergency/crash carts, suction and other required checks. Performs clerical duties such as greeting patients; registration; scheduling; and answering phones. Performs in the role of chaperone during sensitive examinations or when requested Performs vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures and documents in medical record Assist in the transport of patients Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department. Preferred Education and Experience At least 6 months of Health Care or clinic office job-related experience. OR Enrolled in an accredited Medical Assistant Program. Required Licensure and Certification Basic Life Support Heartsaver (BLS HS) (Non-Clinical) - American Heart Association (AHA) Knowledge Requirements Basic typing and word processing abilities.
