In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support across outpatient and inpatient settings, including specialized areas such as dermatology, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, and geriatrics. Your proactive approach will ensure accurate patient intake, vital signs collection, medication administration, and efficient documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. You will be a key player in delivering exceptional patient service while supporting physicians and nursing staff in a fast-paced, trauma-informed environment. Responsibilities Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical history and documenting symptoms accurately Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, and oxygen saturation to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning Support physicians with procedures like X-ray preparation, medication administration, and basic life support during emergencies Assist with clinical tasks across various specialties including dermatology, internal medicine, medical-surgical units, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and Level I or Level II trauma centers Maintain thorough documentation of patient interactions, ICD coding for diagnoses, and updates in EHR systems to ensure compliance and continuity of care Support hospital medicine teams by managing inpatient admissions and discharges efficiently while adhering to safety protocols Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, ensuring comfort, and fostering a welcoming environment for diverse patient populations including geriatrics and outpatient clinics Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in hospital or outpatient settings; clinic experience preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration techniques Hands-on experience with EHR systems; familiarity with X-ray procedures is advantageous Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as OR experience or Level I Trauma Center experience are a plus Strong understanding of emergency medicine protocols and hospital procedures across various specialties including Geriatrics and medical-surgical units Excellent communication skills with the ability to support patient care effectively in high-pressure environments Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams in inpatient or outpatient settings Join us to make a meaningful difference through compassionate patient care!
