Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and administrative support, with experience in various medical settings including dermatology, urgent care, and hospital medicine. This role is essential in providing high-quality care to our patients while ensuring smooth operations within the clinic or hospital environment. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures. Perform intake procedures including taking vital signs and medical history. Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for patient documentation and scheduling. Support patient service initiatives to enhance the overall patient experience. Manage medical administrative tasks including ICD coding, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical environment to promote patient safety. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including emergency medicine and surgical departments. Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role within healthcare settings such as clinics, hospitals, or urgent care facilities. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding is essential. Familiarity with EHR systems for efficient patient management. Basic life support certification is required; additional certifications in areas such as geriatrics or internal medicine are a plus. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare professionals. Ability to work in fast-paced environments, demonstrating adaptability in various medical situations including trauma centers (Level I & II). Experience with X-ray procedures and OR assistance is preferred but not mandatory. A commitment to providing compassionate patient care while adhering to all regulatory standards.
