The CMA will work along side nurses, providers, and other staff members as part of our motivated team. The ideal candidate is able to work in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask.
Job Duties:
Greet and room patients Obtain and enter vital signs, verify current medications, update medical history, ROS, and social history in electronic medical record Assist patients with completing necessary forms or screeners and enter results in chart Assist providers during treatments, procedures, and exams Prepare, Administer and record immunizations in EMR and LINKS Administer nebulizer treatments Perform vision and hearing screenings Perform various point of care lab tests (U/A, Strep, Flu, Covid) Prepare discharge paperwork including follow up instructions, school excuses, etc Communicate results, explain procedures, medications and/or providers' instructions to patients under clinical supervision Prepare exam rooms according to specific procedures and provider's needs for all visits, including general cleaning, upkeep, and restocking of supplies Maintain positive, clean, and organized work environment Take initiative to proactively assist others without direct supervision Maintain patient confidentiality Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Highschool diploma required Active, valid Medical Assistant Certification required Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with providers, staff, patients and visitors in a professional manner at all times Must be detail-oriented and highly organized Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment Firm grasp on medical practices, medical terminology, and HIPAA regulations Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred 2 years of previous experience as a Medical Assistant in one of the following areas is preferred: pediatrics, primary care, acute care settings.
Schedule:
This position is full time, averaging 40 hours per week. Applicant must be able to work a Saturday shift as needed. Shift diff is payable for after hours and Saturday shifts.
