Medical Assistant II - Employee Health PRN Baton Rouge General - 3.8 Baton Rouge, LA Job Details PRN 13 hours ago Qualifications Certified Medical Assistant Full Job Description The Medical Assistant position assists the physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner in coordinating care that's appropriate for patients and assists in the evaluation of pre-hires when needed. High School Diploma or GED preferred. Must be a certified Medical Assistant. The Medical Assistant position assists the physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner in coordinating care that's appropriate for patients and assists in the evaluation of pre-hires when needed. Performs basic physical assessment on patients and collects data essential for treatment (height, weight, vital signs & prior medical history). Administers oral/injectable medications, and performs phlebotomy when ordered by the physician, PA or NP. Answers and responds to all incoming patient care related phone calls and medical record inquiries. Assists in data management processes of the clinic.
