Medical Assistant

Primary Responsibilities •on average, 30 hours a week•Assisting Greets patients with good eye and voice contact. Keeps patients in examination rooms advised if doctor is running behind. Places patients in correct examination room depending on the reason for visit. Assists physician as requested. Proficient in sterile techniques, knowledge of instruments and proper procedures. Demonstrates ability to anticipate doctor needs. Utilizes proper sterilization techniques. Promptly cleans examination rooms upon patient leaving the room utilizing correct OSHA procedures. Changes chemicals per OSHA regulations. Demonstrates knowledge of instrument names. Demonstrates knowledge of proper procedures. Telephone Technique Backs up on phones by answering phone on third ring. Always answers phone with cheerful voice. Receive and route messages to the appropriate staff member. Messages that require a call back must be followed thru by the person who received the call. Record messages including pertinent data regarding the call on the proper paperwork and follow thru. Answers patient questions as best as possible. Schedules patient appointments with foresight and common sense and according to the standard procedures set forth. Other duties as assigned.
