Certified Medical Assistant New Roads

Essential Duties & Responsibilities The Baton Rouge Clinic currently seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to provide quality nursing care services to the patients of our New Roads Internal Medicine clinic and physicians. In this position the CMA will assist physicians with patient care, scheduling, injections, pre-cert procedures, referrals, Rx call-ins and phone triage. Provides patient care as a member of the health care team within scope of license. Follows nursing policies, procedures, and protocols and implements appropriately in the care of patients. Provides instructions to patients regarding treatment plan, medications and follow-up. Communicates effectively with other members of the health care team including accurate documentation in patient medical records. Greets patients with a smile, completion of registration forms, and gives instructions Interview patients while recording and updating medical information (history, chief complaint) and medications etc. into the myChart Prepares patients for examinations and performs routine screening tests Provides patient education with regards to medications and instructions set forth by the provider to manage their health Triages emergency situations Prepares and administers medications with physician authorization Refill requests and Prior Authorizations for medications Job Location Baton Rouge Clinic - The Baton Rouge Clinic in New Roads 230 Roberts Drive, Ste I New Roads, LA 70760 Department The Baton Rouge Clinic in New Roads Class Full-Time Basic Skills Required Must have at least 1-year experience in a clinical setting. Must possess excellent communication skills. A patient-focused work ethic Specific Skills Required Current Louisiana License Demonstrated, successful organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
