Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Medical Assistant, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and clinic efficiency. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional clinical and administrative support across outpatient and inpatient settings, including specialized areas such as dermatology, emergency medicine, geriatrics, and internal medicine. Responsibilities Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health record (EHR) systems accurately. Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to support diagnosis and treatment plans. Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort. Support clinical procedures including medication administration, wound care, X-ray assistance, and basic life support (BLS) protocols. Document patient encounters thoroughly using medical terminology and ICD coding for billing and record-keeping purposes. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members in diverse specialties such as dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), Geriatrics, and medical-surgical units. Maintain clinical supplies inventory, sterilize equipment, and ensure compliance with safety standards in a Level I or Level II trauma center environment. Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions, coordinating appointments, and supporting patient education on health management. Experience Certified Medical Assistant credential from an accredited program is required. Prior experience in outpatient clinics or hospital settings is highly preferred; familiarity with hospital experience or Level I/II trauma centers is advantageous. Hands-on experience with EHR systems and medical administrative support tasks is essential. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, ICD coding, and medication administration enhances your effectiveness in this role. Experience working in specialized areas such as emergency medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics, or PICU will set you apart. Demonstrated ability to perform clinical procedures like X-ray assistance or inpatient care supports your success in this position.
