Full Job Description Medical Assistant Schedule :
30+ hours per week during normal practice business hours
Reports To:
Founder & CEO, Dr. Buencamino and Office Manager Julie Ngo.
Summary:
Concierge Medicine of the South Shore is seeking a highly motivated, compassionate, and self-directed Medical Assistant to support our thriving concierge primary care practice. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing startup-style practice focused on delivering exceptional personalized care and a true concierge patient experience. This role is multifaceted and combines strong clinical skills with elevated customer service and operational support. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, detail-oriented, and passionate about creating meaningful patient relationships. Our Medical Assistant serves as both a clinical resource and a patient experience ambassador — ensuring every patient interaction reflects the warmth, responsiveness, and excellence that define the Concierge Medicine of the South Shore experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
As a growing startup practice, responsibilities may evolve over time. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Clinical Responsibilities:
Assist with general housekeeping duties Assist physicians during examinations and procedures Record patient histories and confirm the purpose of each visit Prepare rooms each morning and close rooms at the end of the day Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain strict patient confidentiality Maintain exam room cleanliness, stocking, and readiness throughout the day Coordinate laboratory testing, imaging, referrals, and specialist appointments Complete medication refills, prior authorizations, and patient follow-up as directed Perform venipuncture, prepare specimens, and appropriately bag/tag laboratory samples Monitor and document refrigerator temperatures and complete autoclave cleaning/logging as required Prepare patients for examination by obtaining vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature, height, and weight
Administrative & Concierge Responsibilities:
Complete forms, paperwork, scheduling, and pre-certification requests Deliver a high-touch concierge experience through all patient interactions Provide front desk and administrative cross-coverage during staff absences Participate in outbound calling campaigns and patient engagement initiatives Maintain professionalism and positivity in all written and verbal communications Answer patient questions regarding memberships, services, and practice offerings Field incoming calls and electronic messages in a timely and professional manner Monitor in-baskets for prescription refill requests, patient messages, and provider communications Adapt communication style to best meet patient needs and uphold the practice's concierge standards Accurately document all patient outreach and interactions within the patient relationship management database Function as a resource for patients, physicians, and staff regarding the Concierge Medicine and Direct Primary Care (DPC) model
Qualifications & Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required Strong venipuncture and clinical skills Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail Ability to multitask and adapt in a startup healthcare environment Ability to maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times Working knowledge of patient care procedures and ambulatory workflows Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant certification program (CMA or RMA required) College degree OR minimum of 4+ years of experience in an ambulatory healthcare setting Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability and professionalism Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) and
