Medical Assistant Job Description Colden Ear Nose Throat & Allergy is seeking a full-time, reliable, friendly, and organized Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. We are a fast-paced office of five providers (two MDs, one PA, and two audiologists) with a primary location in Newburyport, Mass and a second location in Haverhill, MA. Role is primarily based in Newburyport, but must be willing/able to travel to Haverhill on occasion and must be able to work earlier mornings some days of the week (begin 7:30, 7:45 or 8 AM, depending on day). The ideal candidate is MA should be confident and professional with fantastic communication and interpersonal skills that will contribute to the efficient day-to-day patient care of the healthcare facility. Strong candidates will work comfortably under pressure while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment and keep work areas clean and organized, as well as ensure our office provides a welcoming environment for our patients. The essence of this role is to provide a seamless patient experience and support for the medical activities of the practice.

Responsibilities include:

Greets and directs patient to room for Physician visit. Setting up exam rooms for patients as well as clean and disinfect before next patient visit. Preparing patients for examinations with providers; medical history, vital signs, consent forms, etc. Collecting laboratory specimens as needed for providers. Assist the physician, as needed. Maintain sterility of tools by operating autoclave machine. Communicating with patients regarding test results, prescriptions, or other provider recommendations. Inventory and stocking of medical supplies. Handling calls that need response and follow up (tracking down medical records, relaying info to doctor, etc.) Assist in receiving medical records.

Experience and Education required:

High school diploma or equivalent Medical Assistant Certification (strongly preferred) CPR/BLS Certification required Familiar with medical terminology and professional doctor's office protocol Excellent organizational and time management skills Responsible, reliable, and professional Strong communication skills with patients (second language is a plus) eClinicalWorks experience is a strong plus.
