The Certified Medical Assistant II (Float) provides essential clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient clinic operations. This role is responsible for performing a broad range of back-office duties while maintaining accurate documentation and delivering exceptional patient experiences. The CMA II will also provide coverage and support our Shrewsbury location, helping maintain continuity of care and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and minor procedures Prepare and maintain exam rooms in accordance with specialty care standards and HealthyU Clinics protocols Accurately collect and document patient history, vital signs, and chart preparation Perform clinical tasks including specimen collection, injections, EKGs, and other duties within scope Manage and update patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system Support medication prior authorizations and ensure timely follow-up Room patients for both in-person and telemedicine visits Provide patient education, instructions, and post-visit guidance Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, families, and visitors Monitor and maintain medical and office supply inventory; order and track supplies as needed Maintain Point-of-Care (POC) logs and ensure compliance with clinic standards Travel to multiple clinic locations as needed to support providers and staff Demonstrate understanding of and adherence to HealthyU Clinics Value-Based Care protocols Perform all other duties as assigned Medical Assistant Certification required A minimum of 3 years' experience as a medical assistant Proficient phlebotomy skills Proficient Front Office skills Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required. Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, EHR systems) Athena Experience highly preferred Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Prolonged standing, bending, and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs) Reliable transportation is required for all positions, as occasional travel to other clinic locations may be necessary HealthyU Clinics is a value-based healthcare organization committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across multiple states and specialties.
