The role involves providing clinical support with technical proficiency in blood draws and testing, and requires a high level of patience, empathy, and specialized care for patients with complex health needs.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Rooming:
Escort patients to exam rooms, take detailed medical histories, and reconcile medications. Vital Signs:
Accurately capture blood pressure, heart rate, respiration, and pulse oximetry, noting any age-related deviations or concerns. Phlebotomy & Lab Work:
Perform venipuncture (blood draws) and conduct Point of Care (POC) testing including UA, A1C, and PT/INR. Injections & Immunizations:
Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections following strict safety protocols. Administrative Support:
Manage EHR documentation, handle prescription refills under provider supervision, and assist with specialist referrals. Qualifications Certified Medical Assistant Experience 2-3 years of experience Prior experience supporting Geriatrics in any capacity (Skilled Nursing, Home Health, Private Duty Nursing) is a plus Skills Ability to navigate EMR Prior exposure to large health system workflows and reporting expectations Schedule/Shift Mon-Fri:
8am-4:30pm Benefits Paid Sick Leave (Medix provides paid sick leave according to state and local sick leave ordinances).
