  • Position Purpose:
  • The primary purpose of your job position is to be responsible for providing and assisting participants with activities of daily living, restorative, and supportive care. The Medical Assistant will assist in monitoring and reporting the health status and providing a safe environment for the participants.
  • What you will do:
  • + Provide nursing care as assigned in a safe manner, consistent with the policies and procedures of the PACE Organization.
+ Provide support to the providers in the examination and treatment of participants to facilitate clinic flow. + Perform nursing assessment of the clinic participants and chief complaint, including but not limited to triage, vital signs, weights, immunization and allergy status. + Administer and document medications, immunizations, EKGs, lab specimen collection, CLIA waived testing and other care as directed by provider or registered nurse. + Provide ADL assistance to participants in the PACE Organization as needed. + Maintain supply levels in the participant exam rooms, lab, medication room, store room, and desk area; notify Clinic RN Manager when supply levels require attention. + Maintain current written records, indicating ongoing documentation of services provided, reassessments of changing needs, and participant's expressed wishes. + Responsible for front end medical office duties check in and triage of participant, answering phones, as required. + Perform infection control duties within the PACE Organization including cleaning rooms and equipment as indicated. + Perform routine quality checks including but not limited to emergency cart checklists and refrigerator temperature checklists.
  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • + Must possess a comprehensive knowledge as normally obtained through a high school diploma or equivalent. +
  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
  • Medical Assistant certification is required.
+ Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population or if less than one (1) year of experience, must receive appropriate training from the PACE organization on working with a frail or elderly population upon hiring. + Experience in a long-term care facility or with a community-based geriatric program preferred. + Primarily works inside with frequent kneeling, crouching, reaching, lifting, sitting, walking, bending and lifting. Must be able to push, pull, move and or lift a minimum of 20 pounds if applicable. + Physical mobility that includes movement from place to place. + Must be able to sit for long periods of time. + Physical agility, that includes ability to maneuver body while in place. + Dexterity of hands and fingers. + Coordination, including eye-hand, hand-foot.
