Job Description

Busy urgent and primary care practice seeking a skilled, honest, Spanish speaking, Medical Assistant/Front Desk; an individual who is customer-service oriented and is an energetic team-player. MUST have 1-3 years experience as Medical Assistant to monitor back-office functions, complete vital signs (manually/automatic) and medical history, venipuncture, EKGs, X-rays, administer injections (vaccines/medications), IV fluids, wound care, set up PAP smear and minor procedure tray, assist providers, ear lavage, apply casts/bandages, visual acuity, point-of-care tests (urinalysis, pregnancy test, drug screening, rapid strep/flu/COVID), eye irrigations, suture removal, and triaging patients over the phone. Candidate MUST also have front desk experience to handle phone calls, verify insurance/confirming patient's insurance and eligibility, patient registration process, collecting payments, EHR (Athena), and other administrative duties as assigned. Other duties include calling in prescriptions under the provider's discretion, prior authorizations, prepare patients for physical examinations (annual, work, school, employment, immigration), and report clinical concerns/issues to the Medical Director and/or supervisor.
