Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant/Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of patient care, medical procedures, and administrative support within diverse clinical settings. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring efficient clinic operations, delivering high-quality patient service, and supporting healthcare providers with clinical and administrative tasks. Responsibilities Perform patient intake procedures, including recording medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse. Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks including administering medications, drawing blood, and preparing patients for examinations or procedures. Support inpatient and outpatient care by monitoring patient status, updating medical records accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems, and ensuring proper documentation. Conduct basic diagnostic procedures such as X-ray imaging and assist with emergency medicine protocols in urgent care or trauma center settings. Manage medical administrative support duties including appointment scheduling, ICD coding for diagnoses, and verifying insurance information. Maintain knowledge of physiology and anatomy to effectively assist during complex procedures or surgeries in surgical or hospital environments. Ensure compliance with safety standards such as Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications and hospital protocols across various specialties including dermatology, geriatrics, internal medicine, or PICU settings. Verify Insurance plans and check in/out patients. Requirements Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is mandatory. Prior experience working within hospital medicine, urgent care, outpatient clinics, or specialized areas such as dermatology or emergency medicine is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration procedures. Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and proficiency in documentation accuracy. Ability to perform clinical tasks such as vital signs collection, specimen collection, X-ray assistance, and basic life support (BLS). Familiarity with inpatient care environments including Level I and Level II trauma centers or Level III trauma facilities preferred. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse patient populations including geriatrics and pediatric intensive care units (PICU). Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in fast-paced settings such as hospital medicine or medical-surgical units while maintaining attention to detail.
