Job Description

You are applying for a position through Medix, a staffing agency. The actual posting represents a position at one of our clients. Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Assistant to join our client's fast-paced Pain Management and Sports Medicine clinic. This role is vital in supporting a team of four physicians by ensuring high-quality clinical care and efficient patient flow for individuals managing chronic pain and athletic injuries.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Support:
Room patients, collect vital signs, and update medical histories in the EHR system.
Procedure Assistance:
Assist providers with specialized procedures, including joint injections, nerve blocks, and minor clinical tasks, while maintaining a sterile field.
Diagnostic Testing:
Perform and document routine diagnostic tests such as EKGs and urinalysis as required by the treatment plan.
Patient Education:
Educate patients on post-procedure care, treatment plans, and specialized exercise or recovery instructions.
Inventory & Maintenance:
Clean, sterilize, and stock exam rooms with the necessary medical supplies and instruments to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Administrative Coordination:
Manage prescription faxes, coordinate with laboratories, and assist with insurance documentation or prior authorizations. Qualifications 2 years of outpatient experience CMA preferred - not required Ortho/Pain Management experience preferred BLS certification preferred Benefits Paid Sick Leave (Medix provides paid sick leave according to state and local sick leave ordinances). Health Benefits / Dental / Vision (Medix offers 6 different health plans: 3 Major Medical Plans, 2 Fixed Indemnity Plans (Standard and Preferred), and 1 Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) Plan. Eligibility for health benefits is based on verifying that an average of 30 hours per week during the first 4 weeks of the work assignment has been met. If you meet eligibility requirements and take action to enroll, you will be covered no earlier than 60 days into your assignment, depending on plan selection(s)). 401k (Eligible on the first 401k open enrollment date following 6 consecutive months on assignment. 401k Open Enrollment dates are 1/1, 4/1, 7/1, and 10/1).
