Medical Assistant-Part Time

Greenspring Personal Medicine Medical Assistant Position -Part Time 8AM-1PM This is a non-exempt position responsible for performing a variety of clinical and administrative duties within the practice. The Medical Assistant (MA) will help physicians provide patient care during Annual Wellness Physical (AWP) visits and manage vaccinations, clinical supplies and other duties as assigned. Job duties will also include helping to manage clinical supply inventory and informing Administrator clinical supplies well before inventory runs out.

Medical Assistant Job Duties:

CLINICAL

• Provide AWP patient workups, room patients, document visit in Athena, collect, and prepare laboratory specimens to be sent to Cleveland Heart Labs (CHL) (spin blood samples, package samples and assure all samples are sent to CHL), prepare and administer vaccines as directed by physician, perform phlebotomy and electrocardiograms.

Use MDVIP provided equipment to perform and document vision, hearing, grip strength and BMI testing during AWP visits.

• Assist administrative staff with patient scheduling as needed and verify insurance is active.
• Help clean exam rooms, stock supplies, clean exam tables, keep MA rooms and equipment clean daily.
• Other duties as assigned.

ADMINISTRATIVE

• Ensure all blood samples are properly processed and correctly labeled to send to Cleveland Heart Lab (CHL) for processing.
• Ensure all blood samples are sent to CHL each day to allow enough time for processing and prevent the need for patients to return for any additional phlebotomy services.
• Ensure all clinical visits and vaccinations are properly documented within Athena.
• Monitor and manage clinical supplies and inform Administrator to allow enough time to order well before supplies run out.
• Ensure all physician exam rooms are stocked each day with necessary clinical supplies.
• Ensure all physician exam rooms are cleaned each day.
• Ensure all MA rooms are cleaned after each patient, including but not limited to wiping down EKG table and all AWP equipment (Vision screener, Grip Strength machine, Hearing machine, etc.)
• Other duties as assigned.

Pay:

$25.00 per hour
