Medical Assistant - Cardiology

Calvert Internal Medicine Group is looking for a Medical Assistant to support our Cardiology specialty providers. Duties include measuring and recording vital signs, performing electrocardiograms (EKGs), collecting blood, urine, and other samples, and preparing patients for cardiac procedures. They often monitor heart rate and blood pressure, which are critical in detecting subtle changes in cardiac health. They may also assist with stress tests, Holter monitoring, and other diagnostic procedures specific to cardiology. Administrative responsibilities include scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, managing follow-ups, and ensuring smooth workflow . This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of previous experience in a medical office setting. The successful candidate will have Proficiency in EKG and other cardiac diagnostic tools Strong phlebotomy skills for frequent blood draws Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology Attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams Certifications such as CPR/BLS are typically required. Previous experience working with Medent is desired.
