OPS - Medical Assistant II Takoma Park, MD Job Details Full-time $20 - $23 an hour 11 hours ago Qualifications Collaborate with healthcare professionals Health screenings Direct patient care Vital signs Electronic health records (EHR) management Clinic experience Mid-level ECG equipment Administrative experience Medical administrative support Quality assurance Collecting samples for laboratory testing Data entry Patient interaction Outbound calling Patient charting Managing patient records Care coordination Medical terminology Communication skills Full Job Description The Lead Medical Assistant will have personal interest and/or experience in a clinical setting and will perform clinical and administrative tasks for both Pediatric and Adult patients under the direct supervision of a licensed physician. All administrative functions will be evaluated by the Practice Manager. The Lead Medical Assistant will be evaluated by the Practice Manager in collaboration with the supervising physician(s) for their respective clinics. As a member of the health center's integrated care team the Lead Medical Assistant will fulfill the following
KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
towards the provision of patient-centered, coordinated patient care: Measuring and recording vital signs. Recording patient interview, history, and chief complaint. Upload external records and/or preload immunizations. Preparing patients for examination and performing routine screening tests. Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens. Adhering to common safety hazards and precautions. Performing EKGs. Skill in developing and maintaining clinical quality assurance. Skill in developing and resolving problems. Communication skills using appropriate medical terminology. Ability to use good reasoning and judgment and react calmly in emergency situations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, coworkers, and the public. Perform outreach calls to patients and/or specialty offices as requested. Perform Pre-Visit Planning for targeted quality measures. Checking electronic outbox of providers and addressing urgent issues. Completing EHR data entry. Following up on patient care as requested. Assist in ordering and maintaining clinical and office supplies and equipment. Assist in the solutions of problems as directed by the Health Center Manager. Employees serving in a lead, senior or similarly designated position will be required to perform clinical duties daily. Other duties as assigned. Page Break
