Job Description

Compensation:
$21-23 per hour - paid weekly
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 2:30p-11:30p with minimal

Contract to Hire EG is looking for a compassionate, reliable, and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant for one of our premier partners in the Battle Creek area. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional clinical and administrative support to the team and will play a key role in ensuring smooth care operations, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with medical processes.
What You'll Do Clinical Support:
Prepare patients for examinations by taking medical histories, measuring vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight, etc.), and performing routine laboratory tests. Assist the medical team during medical examinations and procedures. Provide patient education on treatment plans, medication, and follow up instructions/appointments. Monitor and assist with Workers' Compensation claims.
Administrative Support:
Schedule patient appointments, answer patient / employee phone calls and manage patient flow. Update and maintain patient records in electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Manage office supplies and ensure medical equipment is functional and well-maintained. Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow-up care. Obtain records from off-site specialty office visits. Send referrals for treatments, such as Physical Therapy. Effectively communicate with production leaders in the plan. Manage restricted associate placements, both work-related and personal-related treatment plans. Provide the safety management team with administrative support, preparing reports, data entry, etc. Miscellaneous other duties as assigned.
Patient Interaction:
Ensure patients feel comfortable and at ease during their visit. Maintain a professional and empathetic demeanor while interacting with patients. Effectively address patient concerns Provide appropriate follow-up as needed. What You'll Bring Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or other accredited certification) is a must. One year of experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar clinical role is a plus. Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) and medical office software. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and HIPAA regulations. Ability to take vital signs, provide first aid, and good assessment skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and patient privacy.
