Job Description

Electrophysiology Medical Assistant Full-Time Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30/5:00pm Join our growing Electrophysiology (EP) team at Cardiology and Vascular Associates (CAVA), one of Michigan's leading cardiology groups. We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Assistant who can thrive in a fast-paced, highly technical environment and is ready to support patients with complex heart rhythm needs. What You'll Do Welcome and room EP patients, record vitals, and prepare patients for electrophysiology visits and procedures Perform ECG/EKG testing and assist with device interrogations (pacemakers, loop recorders, and defibrillators) as directed Review and update medications, allergies, and medical history in patient charts Assist with EP procedure scheduling, surgical clearances, and prior authorizations Process medication refills, disability/FMLA forms, and necessary documentation Manage patient communication through the portal, phone calls, and faxes, including triaging messages for the EP team Scan, organize, and maintain accurate EP medical records and chart documentation Support EP providers and clinical staff with daily clinical and administrative needs in a busy cardiac rhythm management environment What We're Looking For Strong multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail Professional, compassionate communication with patients—especially those with complex cardiac conditions Ability to work efficiently and adapt quickly in a fast-moving electrophysiology setting Previous medical assistant experience preferred; EP/cardiology experience is a plus but not required—willingness to learn is key
