Job Description
Join Our Dynamic Team at Cardiology and Vascular Associates (CAVA)! Are you someone who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment? If so, we want you to bring your skills to Cardiology and Vascular Associates (CAVA) - one of Michigan's leading cardiology practices. Founded in 2000, CAVA is proud to offer top-tier cardiovascular care through a team of 11 board-certified cardiologists and 8 mid-level providers, serving patients across 5 office locations and multiple area hospitals. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Medical Assistant to become a part of our mission of providing exceptional patient care.
The Role:
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a key role in providing hands-on care to our patients. You will be responsible for rooming patients, performing electrocardiograms (EKGs), taking vital signs, handling medication refills, submitting prior-authorizations for medications, assisting with patient assistance programs, and more. Your role will also include administrative tasks such as answering phones, triaging calls, assisting with medical clearances, and managing medical records. You will work directly alongside our clinical team to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow while providing top-notch care to our patients. In this role, you will be expected to manage multiple tasks at once, always maintaining a focus on quality care and patient satisfaction. A strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing situations are essential.Key Responsibilities:
Room patients and prepare them for their visit. Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) on a routine basis. Take and record patients' vital signs accurately and efficiently. Handle medication refills and submit prior-authorizations as required. Assist patients with patient assistance programs. Answer phone calls and triage them to the appropriate department or personnel. Assist with completing and billing medical clearances. Scan medical records and ensure they are properly documented. Clean and maintain exam rooms at the end of each shift.Desired Qualifications:

Certification or diploma as a Medical Assistant (preferred).Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (preferred).Experience:
Proficiency in medical terminology and anatomy knowledge, with cardiology experience preferred.Skills:
Strong patient service skills with the ability to provide compassionate care.Technical Skills:
Ability to accurately take vital signs and operate EKG equipment.Organizational Skills:
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a busy environment.Communication:
