Job Description
We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and qualified Medical Assistant to join our podiatry practice. As an essential member of our clinical team, the Medical Assistant will support providers in delivering high-quality patient care while helping maintain efficient office operations in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills with a commitment to exceptional patient service. While maintaining excellent patient care and service standards, the Medical Assistant will be responsible for the following essential functions: Welcome and room patients in a professional and compassionate manner while preparing them for examination and treatment. Obtain and document patient medical history, medications, vital signs, and chief complaints accurately within the EMR system. Assist providers during patient examinations, procedures, treatments, injections, wound care, nail care, and minor surgical procedures. Perform and assist with digital X-rays while following proper radiology safety standards and office protocols. Prepare and sanitize treatment rooms, instruments, and clinical equipment according to office protocols and infection control standards. Perform clinical duties including specimen preparation, patient education, and application of braces, splints, or durable medical equipment as directed by the provider. Prepare patients for diagnostic testing, imaging, and in-office procedures. Accurately document clinical information, provider instructions, and treatment plans within the electronic medical record system. Maintain patient flow and communicate effectively with clinical and administrative staff to ensure efficient daily operations. Willingness to be cross-trained and assist with front desk/reception responsibilities as needed Assist in coordinating communication between providers, patients, pharmacies, laboratories, imaging centers, and other healthcare facilities. Assist in responding to patient phone calls, prescription refill requests, prior authorizations, and patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Assist with scheduling follow-up appointments, referrals, and diagnostic testing as needed. Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information as necessary. Maintain clinical inventory, stock medical supplies, and ensure examination rooms remain organized and fully equipped. Follow all HIPAA, OSHA, and office safety policies and procedures. Perform additional administrative and clinical duties as assigned to support practice operations.
