Medical Assistant America's Community Council - 4.5 Dearborn, MI Job Details 2 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Medical assisting Certified Medical Assistant Full Job Description As a Medical Assistant in our primary care clinic, you will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare providers and ensuring efficient patient care delivery. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of administrative and clinical tasks aimed at facilitating smooth clinic operations and providing quality patient service. Conduct initial assessment of patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and weight, and record them appropriately in the electronic health record (EHR) system. Escort patients to examination rooms and assist in preparing them for examinations. Assist healthcare providers during medical examinations and procedures as required. Prepare and maintain examination rooms before and after patient visits, ensuring cleanliness and adequate stock of supplies. Perform basic clinical procedures such as venipuncture, EKGs, wound care, and specimen collection in accordance with established protocols and under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals. Administer medications or injections under the direction of healthcare providers, adhering to medication administration guidelines and maintaining accurate records. Provide patients with information regarding clinic procedures, treatments, and medication instructions as directed by healthcare providers. Answer patient inquiries and address concerns to the best of your ability, escalating complex issues to the appropriate healthcare personnel. Offer support and guidance to patients on preventive healthcare measures. Ensure timely documentation of all clinical encounters, test results, and procedures performed during patient visits. Attaching relevant faxes to patient files. Maintain and order medical, office and lab supplies. Fax order to hospitals as needed. Compiling medical records and dispatching them. Schedule patient appointments and manage the clinic's appointment calendar efficiently. Handle incoming phone calls, emails, and other correspondence in a professional and courteous manner, triaging messages and routing them to the appropriate staff members. Assist in the coordination of patient referrals, appointments, and follow-up care. Adhere to all relevant healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA guidelines, to maintain patient confidentiality and ensure a safe working environment. Any other duties as assigned. High school diploma or graduate equivalent degree required. Minimum of 1-year experience as a Medical Assistant. Completion a formal medical assisting program from an accredited institution as a Certified Medical Assistant. Proficient in basic medical procedures such, taking vital signs, venipuncture, EKGs, wound care, and specimen collection. Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, healthcare providers, and other staff members. Preferred to be fluent in Arabic both verbal and written.
