Grand Rapids, MI and Wyoming, MI Join Our Team at Grand Valley Medical Specialists Grand Valley Medical Specialists (GVMS) is a long-standing, physician-owned private practice that has been proudly serving the Grand Rapids community since the 1930s. Our dedicated team includes 15 physicians specializing in internal medicine, pediatrics, and family medicine, along with 5 advanced practice providers, all committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care. As our practice continues to grow, we are excited to welcome two new providers to better serve our patients and community.. We're currently seeking a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant with strong attention to detail and a patient-focused mindset to support our providers with clinical and administrative duties. This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with both patients and providers, playing a vital part in coordinating care, handling phone triage, and supporting clinical documentation. What You'll Do Room patients and prepare exam rooms for visits Take and document vital signs and patient histories in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Assist providers during exams and procedures as needed Administer medications and immunizations as directed by providers Support phone triage by documenting symptoms or concerns and routing them to the care team Respond to patient calls, gather clinical information, and relay provider instructions Maintain accurate and timely charting in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Facilitate electronic prescriptions and medication prior authorizations under provider guidance Assist with referrals, appointment scheduling, and general administrative tasks Ensure a clean, safe, and professional environment in compliance with HIPAA and clinic policies Foster a positive and compassionate patient experience What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent Graduation from an accredited Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) program Prior clinical experience strongly preferred Professional communication skills—both verbal and written Comfort with EHR systems and typical clinic workflows Strong organizational skills and a collaborative attitude Benefits We Offer 401(k) Retirement Plan Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance Life Insurance Short- and Long-Term Disability (STD/LTD) Paid Time Off (PTO) and Earned Sick Time Supportive, team-oriented work environment
