Job Description

Work Schedule 40 hours per week The clinic is open 10am to 6pm Monday through Saturday, will work Saturdays on a rotation $2.00 per hour weekend premium for Saturdays.

403(b) with match Education assistance & continuing education; many courses offered on-site at the hospital Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; must be from an accredited institution and meet the Michigan Merit Curriculum requirements Current Michigan Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA) or equivalent experience or training is desirable, but will train individuals with a strong interest in and aptitude for a career in healthcare Must have excellent customer service, communication, and computer skills. This job also requires excellent attendance and attention to detail, plus compassion and empathy. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (available through Hillsdale Hospital) Responsibilities Prepare patients for examinations and treatments by completing medical history and other required forms, collecting and recording patient vital signs, and performing point of care testing (POCT). Set up rooms with necessary equipment and supplies as appropriate for procedures, explain processes and tests to patients, and provide relevant materials to patients Assist provider during procedures and chaperone as needed Carry out provider orders at time of provider visit or in follow up. This may include injections, breathing treatment, EKG, dressing changes, weight check, and blood pressure monitoring. Conduct and follow up on lab tests including blood draws and urine samples Ensure all specimens are properly and accurately labeled, review test results, complete related paperwork and assure results are available to providers and documented in patient records Clean and sterilize lab test equipment and instruments Keep exam rooms clean and fully stocked with supplies Abide by all regulations, policies, work practices and instructions If it becomes necessary to meet patient care needs, you may be required to float to other clinics Why Hillsdale Hospital Hillsdale Hospital is dedicated to excellence in healthcare community service, continued improvement, and respect for human life.
