Job Description

Job Summary Medical Assistant needed for growing Neurosurgery Practice. Registered or Certified Medical Assistant preferred. Candidate must be willing to obtain RMA or CMA if they do not currently possess. Great Lakes Neurosurgical Associates PC is a private practice neurosurgery group that has been in existence in West Michigan for 35 years and has a full time Medical Assistant position available. Great Lakes Neurosurgical Associates provides superior patient-focused surgical care and works to exceed the quality and service expectation of our patients and their referring physicians in a rewarding work setting. Certification or Registration required at time of hire or at time period defined following hire. Medical office and EPIC experience preferred. The right applicant must possess excellent communication and organization skills, eagerness to learn new skills and be a team player. As a member of our team the responsibilities would include, but not limited to; Interact with patients, physicians and other staff within the clinic and at outside facilities providing accurate, timely and responsive information. Coordinate processes and timing as required meeting physician and facility requirements. Obtain authorization for DME and testing from patient's insurance company. Answer and screen telephone calls in a courteous manner, and record messages for physician and other personnel. Input Patient/Insurance data into practice Management system. Rotate to the Front Desk as needed. Greets patients and checks them into the system. Room patients for multiple Providers, maintaining office flow. Abstract patient medical history and medications into practice Management system. Scan records in appropriate sections of patient electronic Medical Record. Maintain files and patient records in a confidential manner. Perform other related duties as directed or assigned. Competitive salary.
