Job Description

Overview Doctors Urgent Care Walk-In Clinic Jackson is seeking a motivated Part-Time Medical Assistant to join our growing team! We provide paid training! The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting healthcare professionals in various clinical settings, including urgent care. Your ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff, along with your knowledge of medical terminology and procedures, will be essential in delivering exceptional care. Candidates must be comfortable working with telemedicine technology and be able to assist with virtual consultations. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures. Candidates must be comfortable working with telemedicine technology and be able to assist with virtual consultations Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories. Administer medications as directed by physicians or nursing staff. Perform basic laboratory tests and assist procedures when necessary. Maintain accurate patient records Ensure the clinic environment is clean, organized, and compliant with health regulations. Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care. Prepare and maintain examination rooms and medical equipment Skills Insurance verification Telemedicine Completion of a medical assistant program or certification Familiar with simple computer tasks and Microsoft Vitals
COVID 19
Testing Collecting urine specimens and preparing for LAB send-outs In office testing including FLU, strep and pregnancy testing. EKG's Able to check blood pressure manually Injections/Immunizations-Prepare for suturing-Sterilization, etc. Ability to accurately administer medications and perform basic life support techniques Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Compassionate and empathetic towards patients' needs Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities and skills.
