Job Description

Category Laboratory - Pathology Assistant Job Type Contract Step into a vital role supporting laboratory pathology operations as an experienced Pathologist Assistant for an 8-week contract assignment. This opportunity is perfect for professionals with specialized skills in pathology assistance, ensuring the delivery of essential diagnostic and specimen processing services.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
Qualifications & Experience:
Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologist's Assistant program or current PA (ASCP) certification required Valid BLS certification is mandatory Proven experience as a Pathology Assistant, demonstrating expertise in gross examination and specimen dissection Strong communication skills to interact with medical staff, laboratorians, and support teams Ability to document accurately and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities:
Assist pathologists in the preparation and dissection of surgical specimens and postmortem examinations Execute specimen grossing, cassetting, and documentation following established protocols Collaborate with laboratory and medical teams to deliver timely and accurate results Maintain precise records and electronic documentation for all assigned tasks and procedures Uphold quality and safety standards, adhering strictly to infection control guidelines Regularly communicate procedural details and results with physicians and clinical partners
