The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in medical support functions, with experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient settings. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to patient-centered care within a dynamic medical environment that values professionalism, efficiency, and compassionate service. Duties Assist podiatrists during patient examinations and procedures, including wound care, X-ray preparation, and medication administration. Prepare patients for treatment by obtaining medical histories and performing initial assessments. Manage patient intake processes efficiently using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems while ensuring data accuracy. Support documentation of clinical notes, ICD coding for diagnoses, and relevant medical terminology. Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of clinical equipment and treatment areas in compliance with infection control standards. Assist with in-clinic administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow. Support emergency procedures by applying Basic Life Support (BLS) protocols when necessary. Coordinate with hospital teams for inpatient or Level I/II trauma center cases requiring specialized care or imaging like X-ray. Assist with medication administration within scope of practice and support patient education on foot health and treatment plans. Handle specimen collection and prepare samples for laboratory analysis as needed. Support the use of advanced clinical tools such as ultrasound or other diagnostic equipment when required. Experience Prior experience working in outpatient clinics or hospital settings specializing in dermatology, internal medicine, or urgent care is highly desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to podiatric care. Experience supporting inpatient services within Level I or Level II trauma centers is advantageous. Familiarity with EHR systems and ICD coding processes to ensure accurate documentation. Knowledge of medical terminology related to podiatry, surgery, geriatrics, and medical-surgical care. Previous exposure to X-ray procedures or OR experience is beneficial. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or hospital medicine are a plus. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in fast-paced environments. If you are committed to delivering high-quality patient care through meticulous support functions and possess the necessary clinical knowledge, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding opportunity.
