Job Description

Cardiac & Vascular Consultants of Northern Michigan brings innovative, world-class cardiac and vascular care to Traverse City and the surrounding area. We are an outpatient ambulatory center. We are looking for a Medical Assistant. This is a part time position working every Thursday, 10-12 hour shifts and variable Friday shifts. Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care across various settings, including outpatient and inpatient environments. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth operations within the medical facility, assisting with both administrative and clinical tasks. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers in performing examinations and procedures. Administer medications as directed by physicians and ensure proper documentation. Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories. Maintain accurate patient records in electronic health systems. Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with X-Ray procedures when necessary. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment. Support emergency medicine procedures as needed, especially in a Level I Trauma Center setting. Collaborate with dermatology specialists to provide exceptional patient care. Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care. Skills Strong knowledge of physiology and medical terminology. Proficiency in medication administration and understanding of medical-surgical practices. Experience working in both outpatient and inpatient settings is preferred. Familiarity with emergency medicine protocols, particularly in high-pressure environments like a Level I Trauma Center. Ability to operate X-Ray equipment and perform related tasks effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare staff. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
