Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care in various settings, including clinics, medical offices, and hospitals. As an LPN, you will play a crucial role in supporting patients and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal health outcomes. Duties Provide direct patient care under the supervision of physicians and clinical staff in a Gastroenterology (GI) clinic setting. Assist with clinic-based procedures and diagnostic testing, including phlebotomy, specimen collection, and processing . Support GI-specific tests such as PillCam studies, FibroScan , and other in-clinic diagnostic workflows . Assist with addimitting patients, rooming patients, and post-procedure care instructions. Perform clinical support tasks and other delegated procedures as needed. Educate patients and families on GI-related health conditions, treatment plans, bowel preparation instructions, and wellness strategies. Manage patient communication, including phone calls, portal messages, and appointment-related inquiries , in a timely and professional manner. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic). Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and the broader GI care team to ensure efficient clinic workflow and high-quality patient care. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, infection control standards, and clinic policies. Help in ASC, in admitting as and when needed. Qualifications Current Medical Assistant Certification required. Experience in a hospital or specialty clinic setting (GI experience preferred). Familiarity with gastroenterology procedures such as PillCam and FibroScan is highly desirable. Proficient in specimen collection, processing, and basic laboratory handling techniques. Strong ability to manage patient communication, including calls and electronic messages , in a professional and compassionate manner. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment. Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly educate and support patients. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to patient confidentiality and high-quality care.
