Position Overview:
As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in our clinic, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care while supporting clinical operations. You will be responsible for managing patient flow, assisting providers, and performing clinical and administrative tasks to ensure a seamless patient experience. Our team collaborates across various specialties, serving a diverse patient population including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage patient flow within the clinic, ensuring efficient and compassionate care. Assist healthcare providers with patient assessments, standard rooming procedures, and clinical support. Administer immunizations, injections, and other medications as directed. Collect laboratory specimens and perform basic laboratory tests. Support providers with prescription refills and perform phlebotomy duties. Provide telephone support to address patient inquiries and facilitate effective communication between patients and providers. Support front desk operations, including check-in procedures and scheduling. Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining clinical areas. Perform designated procedures such as x-ray operations (if certified), and assist with prior authorization processes.
Qualifications:
Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification. Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification. Experience working in a clinical setting preferred. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to deliver individualized patient care across diverse populations. Knowledge of Minnesota Board of Nursing and Medical Practice guidelines for delegated tasks. Preferred but
Not Required:
X-ray operator certification (if applicable). Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Bilingual skills are a plus.
