Responsibilities:
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual
- Schedule appointments and manage the calendar for practitioners
- Greet patients and provide them with necessary paperwork and forms
- Verify patient information and insurance coverage
- Maintain patient records and update them as necessary
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and correspondence
- Ensure the smooth operation of the office, including miscellaneous administrative duties as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting including insurance verification is a plus
- Proficiency in using computers, phone systems, and other office equipment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is beneficial This position requires a professional demeanor, as well as the ability to work well with patients, medical professionals, and other staff members.
