In this vital role, you will support clinical operations, including patient rooming, vitals, preventative screening, lab work, and administering immunizations. We're looking for a full-time employee who thrives in fast-paced environments, has great interpersonal communication skills, and enjoys caring for children as much as we do.
Responsibilities Rooming Patients:
Provide a fun and welcoming environment for our young patients and their families by presenting a positive and warm manner in everything you do.
Administrative Duties:
Receive patient phone calls and take messages for providers. Complete pre-visit planning prior to patient appointment to obtain all necessary information and reports for provider review.
Stocking and Cleaning:
Responsible for daily stocking and cleaning of patient rooms to facilitate efficient, quality patient care. Perform infection control procedures through the regular cleaning and sterilization of equipment and instruments. Report maintenance and cleaning service issues to manager.
Customer Service:
Facilitate relationship between patient and provider. Develop relationships with patients, family, and outside agencies to facilitate coordination of care. Follow through to resolve service problems promptly and professionally with the involvement of appropriate clinic staff. Alert patient to provider changes and/or delays in schedule. Perform other tasks as assigned.
Room patients in exam rooms:
including taking vital signs, history, and preparing patient and equipment to be seen by the provider. Collect specimens through phlebotomy and capillary draws, urine catheterization, throat and NP swabs. Perform routine diagnostic procedures including audiograms, vision and hearing screenings, ear irrigations, TB skin tests, spirometry, urinalysis, PCR testing for strep, influenza and RSV; lipid, glucose, CBC, mono, ESR, lead testing and HIV testing; assisting with minor surgery and other procedures. Administer medications and vaccinations per provider order. Qualifications Successful completion of a Registered or Certified Medical Assistant Certification exam (RMA/CMA/CCMA). Previous clinical experience preferred. Bilingual/fluent in English and Spanish, Hmong, or Somali preferred. Required Skills Ability to use customer service skills to positively impact the experience of care for our patients, external customers and internal service partners. Participate in continuous quality improvement efforts to support patient care goals. Manage relationships by being communicative, non-reactive, and committing to supporting all staff you encounter as a part of a balanced team. Listen to and support our clinic leadership in their goals to provide excellent pediatric care. Demonstrate sound judgement and decision-making abilities. Be open to feedback; be willing to learn and grow. Communicate clearly and calmly at all times. Firmly follow all policies, including compliance, ethics and integrity, confidentiality expected at Metropolitan Pediatrics.

From $23.00 per hour
