We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Pediatric Medical Assistant to support our providers and help deliver high-quality care to children and families in our community. About the Role The Pediatric Medical Assistant is responsible for supporting medical providers with patient care, clinical procedures, and laboratory functions. This role plays an important part in ensuring efficient clinic operations while helping create a positive, welcoming experience for pediatric patients and their families. Key Responsibilities Prepare pediatric patients for examinations, collect health information, and record vital signs, medications, allergies, and immunization histories Assist providers with examinations, treatments, minor procedures, and patient care activities Administer medications, injections, and immunizations under the supervision of a Medical Provider or RN Educate patients and families regarding tests, treatments, and follow-up care as directed by providers Collect, process, and prepare laboratory specimens and perform routine laboratory procedures as appropriate Perform phlebotomy and safely collect blood samples for testing and analysis Maintain laboratory records, communicate results, and support provider follow-up for abnormal findings Monitor and restock exam rooms, laboratory supplies, and clinical inventory Participate in staff meetings, committees, and other clinic activities while supporting additional duties as assigned What You Bring Strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and ability to remain calm under pressure Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to build positive relationships with patients, families, and coworkers Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations Commitment to the SCHS mission and staff values Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, CMA certification preferred, but not required. At least one year of related experience. Bilingual (English/Spanish or Somali) preferred. Experience working in a pediatric care setting highly preferred. Pay Range $23•$26 / hour, or $26•$29 / hour with CMA certification
