In this role, you will provide exceptional patient care while supporting physicians and advanced practice providers in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate is organized, thrives in a team setting, and is committed to delivering outstanding patient service.
Qualifications Required:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) Minimum of one year of Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred if applicable) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Preferred Experience Epic electronic medical record (EMR) Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Office applications Biologic medications for asthma and COPD Spirometry testing Phlebotomy and specimen collection Medication administration, including injections Telephone triage Medication refill processing Prior authorization experience with specialty medications Essential Responsibilities Clinical Patient Care Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, updating medical histories, and documenting information in the electronic medical record. Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during patient visits and procedures. Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens. Administer injections and medications as ordered. Perform spirometry testing and other clinical procedures within scope of practice. Maintain exam rooms and clinical supplies to ensure efficient patient care. Medication Management Process medication refill requests according to provider protocols. Coordinate new and renewal prescriptions for biologic injectable medications. Complete insurance prior authorizations for specialty medications. Communicate with pharmacies, insurance companies, and patients regarding medication approvals and refills. Telephone Triage Answer incoming patient calls and assess symptoms using established clinical protocols. Determine the urgency of patient concerns and schedule appointments appropriately. Respond to routine clinical questions within scope of practice and refer complex concerns to the physician or nursing staff. Document all patient communications accurately in the electronic medical record. Conduct follow-up calls to monitor patient progress, reinforce provider instructions, and answer additional questions. Administrative Responsibilities Accurately document patient information in Epic. Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, and follow-up appointments. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate effectively with providers, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure high-quality patient care. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and infection prevention practices. Ability to read, interpret, and follow written and verbal instructions. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a busy clinical environment. Ability to remain calm and professional during urgent or emergency situations. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with patients, providers, referral offices, and coworkers. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Pay:
$25.00 - $27.00 per hour
