The anticipated schedule for this temporary assignment is: Week of August 24: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday August 31 - September 25: Tuesday through
Thursday Hours:
9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. This temporary position is intended to provide coverage for an employee leave and is expected to conclude on September 25, 2026. The Medical Assistant's primary function, within the legal scope of practice for this position, is to assist SCU health providers (MD, PA, NP, and RN) in making efficient use of their clinic time by maintaining smooth patient flow. This is accomplished by managing the front desk, answering telephones, scheduling appointments, checking patients into the clinic, rooming patients in exam rooms at the time of their appointment, obtaining accurate vital signs, conducting laboratory procedures as ordered by the medical provider, administering vaccinations, and maintaining clean and adequately stocked exam rooms.
Key responsibilities include:
Perform in-house laboratory procedures, including EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen collection, while accurately processing and documenting all tests and results. Track all laboratory work to ensure reports have been received and processed, record results in patients' charts, and immediately notify providers of any abnormal laboratory findings. Room patients and record all information needed by the medical provider prior to examination, including chief complaint, vital signs, medication review, allergy review, equipment setup, vision screening, height, weight, and blood pressure. Notify the provider of the patient's arrival. Maintain the daily organization and cleanliness of laboratory and exam room areas, including stocking supplies and sterilizing equipment. Order routine laboratory testing through LabCorp and accurately perform all in-clinic CLIA-waived tests and wet mount testing. Coordinate and execute on-campus vaccination clinics for specific health programs and the general student population. Prepare and administer patient immunizations in accordance with clinic protocols.

Hourly rate is $19.45 - $24.90 depending on qualifications and experience. The salary range listed reflects a good-faith estimate of what we reasonably anticipate to pay for this position, based on market data and internal equity, at the time of posting.
