Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including gathering medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately. Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates with precision. Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort. Support physicians during procedures, including medication administration, wound care, or minor surgical tasks. Operate and maintain EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems to document patient information securely and efficiently. Conduct basic diagnostic procedures such as X-ray imaging or specimen collection when trained and authorized. Manage medical supplies inventory, sterilize equipment, and ensure clinical areas are clean and organized for safety compliance. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in inpatient, outpatient, emergency medicine, or specialized units like Geriatrics or PICU to deliver seamless patient care. Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding for accurate documentation and billing support. Experience working in hospital medicine, urgent care, emergency medicine, or Level I/II trauma centers is highly desirable. Proficiency with EHR systems and medical administrative support tasks such as appointment scheduling and patient follow-up. Ability to perform intake assessments, take vital signs accurately, and assist with medication administration within scope of practice. Familiarity with medical-surgical procedures, inpatient care protocols, or clinic operations enhances effectiveness in this role. Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatric intensive care units (PICU). Basic life support (BLS) certification is required to ensure readiness for emergency situations.
