The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting dermatologists and ensuring high-quality patient care. This position involves assisting with various dermatological procedures, managing patient intake, and providing administrative support within a clinical setting. The Dermatology Assistant will work closely with patients to deliver exceptional service while maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency. Pay will be based on experience. Responsibilities Assist dermatologists during examinations and surgeries, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Perform patient intake, including obtaining medical histories and vital signs. Document patient information accurately in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Work in the Mohs laboratory as a Mohs technician. Administer medications as directed by the physician and monitor patients for any adverse reactions. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical environment, including sterilization of instruments. Educate patients on skincare routines, treatment plans, and post-procedure care. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care effectively. Manage appointment scheduling and follow-up communications with patients. Utilize medical terminology accurately when documenting patient interactions and procedures. Skills Laboratory experience is a plus as cross training is involved as a Mohs technician. Familiarity with hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient services. Familiarity with medical administrative support tasks, including intake processes and EHR systems is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred. Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to care. Ability to perform vital sign assessments competently.
