Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant, where your energy and dedication will directly impact patient care and clinic operations. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support across outpatient and inpatient settings, including specialty clinics such as dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, and emergency medicine. Your proactive approach will ensure smooth clinic workflows, accurate patient documentation, and exceptional service delivery. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your clinical skills while contributing to a compassionate healthcare environment. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their identity, and assist with check-in procedures using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates with precision. Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining medical histories, updating intake forms, and explaining procedures clearly. Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, including medication administration and basic X-ray setup when applicable. Support physicians with clinical tasks such as ICD coding for diagnoses, performing basic physiology and anatomy assessments, and managing medication inventories. Ensure accurate documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and procedural notes in compliance with medical standards. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols in outpatient, inpatient, or emergency settings like Level I or Level II trauma centers. Requirements Proven experience working in hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics; hospital experience preferred. Knowledge of dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, medical-surgical procedures, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), OR (Operating Room), or Level I/II trauma centers is highly desirable. Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding practices, anatomy and physiology fundamentals. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent required to ensure readiness for emergency situations. Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations. Experience operating EHR systems efficiently while managing intake processes and vital signs documentation. Ability to perform X-ray procedures or assist in emergency medicine scenarios is a plus but not mandatory. Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environments such as hospital inpatient units or outpatient clinics with excellent organizational skills. $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
